1. What Languages can I learn with Takeaway Languages?

   We currently have Mandarin Chinese, the world’s most spoken language, available online, with 4 levels of master instruction and a further 2 advanced levels being developed (due to be completed by the end of November 2007). Currently under development is English for Chinese speakers (available December 2007) as well as German and Korean (available January 2008). By the end of next year, we aim to have advanced instruction in several Asian and European Languages.

2. Why should I subscribe to Takeaway Languages?

   Takeaway Languages uses the most innovative language learning technology to help you learn faster and more efficiently than any other course. Many other courses claim to teach you quickly, but rarely do they teach more than basic vocabulary. 3. What system requirements do I need to run Takeaway Chinese?

   Takeaway Languages’ learning materials are delivered entirely online, so you will need a connection to the internet. Although our course can work at all internet speeds, we recommend a connection of at least 256kb/s. In order for the site to work properly, you will need to have Adobe Flash installed (which most computers do, and is available free from www.adobe.com) as well as Chinese language script support. Our Sign-up page contains a link to ensure that everything will work properly before you submit any information to us, so you don’t need to worry!

4. How much does it cost to subscribe to Takeaway Chinese?

   The cost is currently $19.95 AUD per month (approximately $US18). Our Audio on Demand system is the closest thing you will ever get to being in China , and for many people, better than being in a classroom, since you have total control over what you want to learn when you want to learn it, for a fraction of the cost!

5. Is entering my credit card information on your website safe?

   Yes. Our website uses 128-bit secure encryption, and our security certificate can be viewed by clicking on the padlock on the bottom right hand corner of the screen that appears on the sign up page. All of our transactions are handled through a certified third party processor (ematters – www.ematters.com.au) and Takeaway Languages does not store your credit card details.

6. Why do I have to use my email address to log in and what about my privacy?

   Log-ins need to be unique and easily manageable. Using your email address ensures that no one else can use the same log-in, that it is easy to remember and that your password is easy to retrieve. We will NEVER send you spam, nor will we share your email with any third party without your written permission, in accordance with our privacy policy. We will only send you emails to inform you about important updates to the site, or other ways that we can help you make your learning more effective.

7. What if I have any problems with my subscription?

   We will always do our best to help you, so if you have any problems, whether it be technical, accounting or even a question about grammar, please use the ‘contact us’ link at the bottom of the page. We try to answer all enquiries within 24 hours.
